LIZZY WILLIAMS - American - (1960 -

   Lizzy Williams was born in 1960 in Virginia.  After a few dull jobs, seh stopped working to start a family.  While staying home with her children, she became interested in working with ceramics but was concerned about leaded paints with small children around, so she turned to painting.  Initially she pained on stretched canvas but found the cost prohibitive.  She found that she really enjoyed painting on wood and really enjoyed looking for free wood left in trash piles.  Lizzy is completely self taught and enjoys the recycling aspect of her work.  Most of her paintings are on wood which has been cast away destined for the dump.  She freely admits to being a trash picker.  Lizzy has yet to paint a sad painting.  Bright colors and bold designs dominate her works.  People love her work because of the color and whimsy.
