Mills was a naturalist who wrote at least six other books along the same lines, including "The Story of a Thousand-Year Pine" (illustrated)! He kept a cabin on the side of Long's Peak, Colorado and spent 27 years studying beavers both there and throughout the US and Canada. The book contains many wonderful photographs of beaver activity taken by the author in the wild. Brown cloth with bright pictorial cover and bright white titles. Very clean and tight with white crisp pages.
