GARTH ARMSTRONG - Canadian (1960 -

ARMSTRONG, Garth b. 1960

Born in Toronto, he attended public and secondary schools in North York, Ontario, then attended OCA where he studied communication and design (1979-83). While working as an art director for several companies his free time was taken up with his easel work focusing on rural landscapes in water colour in realistic style. Later he began working in oils on wood panels or canvas, exploring a more expressionistic style and palette in his landscapes and portraits. He displayed his work through Scene Canada Galleries c. 1990 and now at Jim Hennok Gallery, Toronto. He worked for Haughton Graphics, and Proving Graphics where he became art director. He is now art director for Onyx Marketing Group. He resides in Whitby, Ontario.
