Watercolorist Lindsay Lockerby Field was born in Michigan on Feb. 25, 1915, and was taught to paint by his mother and grandmother.
His first illustrating job was for Better Homes & Gardens.
He further studied in Los Angeles at the Art Center School under Millard Sheets (1907-1989) and Rex Brandt and in Maine with Elliot O’Hara.
After several years of freelance work for books and magazines, he was able to travel and paint in Europe.
He then settled in Laguna Beach where he remained until his demise on Jan. 17, 1998.
