Wrote children's books which her husband Conrad Buff illustrated.
Dancing Cloud, the Navajo Boy (1937). Runners up for the Caldecott Medal for Dash and Dart in 1943. In 1947 runners up for the Newbery Award for Big Tree (1946). Newbery runners up in 1952 for The Apple and the Arrow (1951)., and again in 1954 for Magic Maze.
It is rare to find Mary Marsh paintings as she quit painting to write children's books!
