Signed on the back by Robert Hollings, for Laurence Hollings, the Artist. Robert is Laurence's Son.

Laurie passed away recently. This Piece was in his studio when he died, he never had the chance to sign it himself. It is dated 1940.

The image is that of a Beautiful, Snowy, Mount Rainier, Washington. According to his son, Robert, this image was painted when Laurence was a member of the Army Core of Engineers, just prior to WWll.It hung in the Hollings home for years.

Hollings was an extremely talented Artist, Sculptor, Muralist, Designer, Cartoonist, etc. He was a pupil of Maynard Dixon and Van Sloun.

Hollings was born in San Jose, California, in 1914.He began his career as an Illustrator for Walt Disney in the 1930's.
